This work presents a panorama of the approaches used by researchers of Science and Technology Studies of the advanced countries to analyze Science and Technology Policy. It takes as a reference their own works and the contributions of other authors who conceived or applied these approaches for the analysis of other public policies. It also formulates critical observations about those works that evidence some of their lacunae for the analysis of the research community’s behavior in the Science and Technology Policy decision-making process. Finally, it shows how the Policy Analysis approach adopted by the author in other works could be used to cope with these lacunae.
