Resumen

Este artículo expone, por un lado, el concepto de derechos de soberanía y su aplicación a los recursos filogenéticos; por otro lado, examina la aplicabilidad y la amplitud de los derechos de propiedad intelectual sobre dichos recursos. A su vez, analiza de manera breve las llamadas innovaciones "informales" y la instrumentación de los "derechos del agricultor" en el nivel nacional e internacional. Por último, presenta las cuestiones que en escenarios venideros deberán ser abordadas como ejes del debate.
