Abstract

This paper intends to explore the way in wich the field of research practice is produced within a particular scientific community. Specifically, the creation of collaborative relations among experimental biologists. Starting from an ethnographical work developed in an experimental biology laboratory, the author examines how the representation of nature (through the concepts of organism and mechanism) constitutes a cognitive condition from wich certain social relationships are constructed (collaborative relationships) toward the inner core of such scientific community. The aim is to show the way in wich cognitive conditions change in terms of the sociopolitical interests of researchers themselves, thus forming certain organization in the development of collaborative relationship among laboratories.
