Resumo

En el mes de abril de 2006 se realizaron en Bogotá las VI Jornadas Latinoamericanas de Estudios Sociales de la Ciencia y la Tecnología (VI ESOCITE). El Dr. John Law, del Centre for Science Studies de la Universidad de Lancaster, fue invitado para dictar la conferencia de apertura de las Jornadas. Los editores asistentes de REDES aprovecharon la ocasión, y realizaron una entrevista con el reconocido investigador en la que se pasa revista a la evolución de sus ideas a lo largo de su carrera.

Como introducción a la entrevista, en este artículo presentamos un repaso de la trayectoria académica de John Law, poniendo énfasis en algunos de los conceptos más relevantes de su producción. Nos interesa, en particular, describir los cambios en su enfoque teórico, las razones que lo motivaron y las soluciones que propuso. Por último, se incluye una bibliografía seleccionada de las obras de Law.
