Argentine transport system: crisis management strategies and risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic in 2020

The Covid-19 pandemic crisis represented a challenge for the different management areas, both public and private. The case of organizations belonging to the transport sector was not an exception, but rather they became protagonists of multiple transformations. In this context, the paper aims to describe and analyze some of the crisis management strategies and practices developed by organizations regulators and providers of transportation services in Argentina during the year 2020, with a focus on their effects on the health and working conditions of workers. These strategies and practices were aimed at guaranteeing operational and health safety, as well as the continuity of services, within the margins imposed by the exceptional regulations in force. To this end, a descriptive research design based on an approach has been chosen. qualitative methodological. The techniques used were: the survey of secondary sources (organizational documents, regulations, etc.) and semi-structured interviews with key actors in the transport system (officials of regulatory entities and service providers, union representatives and workers). The paper presents the main findings of the research and their potential implications for dealing with future events with similar characteristics.
